Beachin'

We just got back from 3 days at the coast! It was fun and beautiful time with new and old friends. We shared a huge lodge with some other families. There were 15 adults....and 52 kids!!! As you can imagine, we were far from bored. The beginning of our time was rainy, so we stayed in and enjoyed the view and fireplace. We busied ourselves with the pool, ping pong and foos ball tables and with our multitude of friends.

After the rain let up, we headed down the trail to the beach.

"Come baaaaaack seaguuuuul! Mommy wants to keeeeeep youuuuu!"

We found some tide pools which were the best we've seen for a long while. We found so many treasures!

Kai found some starfish!

I caught a baby crab...

but Mommy caught the biggest crab of the day...

Daddy was proud.

Whew! Back up to the cabin - time for nap for us. Dad and Mom did some visiting and then went shopping for the bon fire we were going to have that night.

Later, the Hedlunds showed up and it was back down to the waves to play together...

Friends Rock!!

This was our dinner table right outside our room.

At sunset, we hiked back down to the beach for our bon fire and S'mores party! It was a very yummy time together and we stayed and enjoyed ourselves until way past our bedtime!

After all that walking, we wanted a nice rest with our blankies. Mom made us some hot tea and we took it easy for a whole 6 minutes before we were up and seeking another adventure. I guess we'll have to wait - Dad and Mom collapsed on the couch and can't move.

Desperately Seeking Summer!

Malachi's real good at freaking Mommy out with his new riding skills. His motto is: "No hill is too steep, no puddle's too deep!"

Brier starts my diggin' holes for me. Groundbreaking is tough work, but she's an expert! She'll start one off, then I'll go out and dig on it a bit. Then, after I go back inside, she'll do some more work on it. Mommy's let us keep 2 that we started last spring. They're almost 3 feet deep now!

Solomon is 4!!

It's my birthday today! Soon, my friends and family will be coming over to help me celebrate!

My friends and family brought me loads of fun things to open!

Then, Mommy tells me that Nana has a surprise, and to go look out the window. What is that? OH MY GOODNESS...

My first real bike!! She even hooked me up with training wheels, a colorful horn and a matching helmet. Nanas think of everything! Awesome!!

Birthday-Blissed-Out

The day is winding down and I'm one happy pup. I'm so thankful for all the wonderful people in my life and, I won't lie, all the cool gifts I got to open! What an incredible birthday I had!

Mystery of the Headaches:SOLVED!

As if he didn't look like Daddy before! The doctor said he needs to wear them for school and TV watching. I'm glad he doesn't have to fuss with them full-time.

Snow in March?

It may be a bit hard to make out, but it snowed at our house yesterday! It really looked lovely with our tree in bloom. Nothing stuck, of course, but the show was beautiful!

Homeschool Mom's Retreat

So, for anyone who was wondering, my weekend away was wonderful! I actually made it the whole 3 days! The guys had a great time, too, but were glad when we got back. I believe Micah's exact words were, "Thank God - I'm done."
This was the cabin. There were 16 of us.

Our ocean view from the hot tub. I must of sat out here for hours with my book!

It's hard to see clearly, but this window was right behind me when I sat in the breakfast nook. Can you spot the deer?
